. . . The first question raised by a student was the 600,000 peso investiture issue.

. . . Students argue that it is an unnecessarily large amount spent on an event that could have been successful for far less. The students questioned the Chancellor's priorities for the university.

The investiture was allegedly for publicity of UP Mindanao. If that was the case, then it was ineffective and unnecessary. The money could have been allocated for the facilities that the campus needs.

A professor who wished to remain anonymous, who was present at the said event also attested to the unreasonable amount and said it did not seem like it was worth as much.
